About ChristinaNoel & The Creature

ChristinaNoel & The Creature is a Brooklyn-based dance theater company producing immersive performance pieces. Comprised of dancers, musicians, and visual artists, the hybrid performance medium utilizes the dancers’ voices, bodies, and individual perspectives of the world. The resulting work envelops viewers in multi-textured environments derived from human connections and encounters. The Creature’s mission is to push the boundaries of dance performance and create a space for dialogue and educational outreach.

Driven by Artistic Director & Choreographer ChristinaNoel Reaves, in collaboration with Visual Director & Composer Aeric Meredith-Goujon, The Creature artists are dedicated to the joys of fearless creation and expression; honing their skills and unique style through consistent group training and experimentation in order to expand their collective understanding of dance performance and expression.

Sarah Foster is an NYC-based performer, dancer, choreographer, and occasional actor and opera singer. She's performed her own work all over the place—from Italy, to Boston, to Jacob's Pillow, to Governors Island and all over the New York area—and has worked with all sorts of fabulous people. Currently, she performs with Amalgamate and is psyched that ChristinaNoel & The Creature has organized this real live performance in a real live place with real live people. Performers: Jonathan Matthews and Holly Sass
Music: Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, “Inca Roads"
Costumes: Haircuts by Maddie Schimmel

BREAKTIME is a site-fluid reservoir for bad ideas, generated and performed by Holly Sass and Jonathan Matthews. Classmates at NYU, they were often cast together until joining forces in 2017 for Tisch Dance’s Alumni Choreographic Mentorship with Gus Solomons, Jr. They have since been hosted by such kind folks as UNA Projects, Center for Performance Research, Dixon Place, Create:ART, Arts On Site, Triskelion Arts, Spoke the Hub, Circadium School of Contemporary Circus, and Tisch Dance’s Summer Residency Festival. The pair has been nourished by residencies through Jonah Boaker Arts Foundation, Create:ART, and The Croft. Interested in community-based initiatives, BREAKTIME participated in Jemila MacEwan’s inaugural Land Falls residency and helped convert Bridget Struthers’ Brattleboro barn into a shared performance space. BREAKTIME has enjoyed collaborations with director Julia Barrett-Mitchell, choreographer-costumer Maddie Schimmel, installation artist Dave Hannon, brass quartet The Westerlies, cinematographer Derrick Belcham, and is always on the prowl for creative relationships. www.clickonbreaktime.com
